Enea Operator will strengthen the energy security of the Poznań agglomeration
Enea Operator signed an agreement for the implementation of new grid investments in the Poznań agglomeration for over PLN 44.5 million. For this amount two new 110 kV high-voltage lines and a grid switching station on Poznań Garaszewo, with outlets, will be built. The project received a subsidy from the European Union totaling PLN 22.5 million.
The main objective of the project is to improve the energy security of the Poznań agglomeration, by creating a new system of high voltage power grid connections between the 400/110 kV Kromolice transformer station owned by Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne and the city of Poznań. This will improve the power supply conditions not only for the city but also for the adjacent municipalities.
- This is a very important project for us and key investments for Poznań. Strengthening the energy security and responding to the development of large urban centres is one of the most important responsibilities of our company. The concluded agreement shows how seriously we approach them - said Jarosław Popowski, director of the Poznań branch of Enea Operator.
As part of the project Enea Operator will build high-voltage single-track lines in Kromolice - Gądki relation and two-track Kromolice - Nagradowice and Kromolice Swarzędz lines. Also, the new Garaszewo switching station will be built along with outlets to Bema and Żegrze Transformer/switching stations (GPZ) and the connection with Starołęka and Żegrze Transformer/switching stations. PBE Elbud Warszawa was selected in the tender procedure as the contractor for the project.
The investment is implemented with the support of the European Regional Development Fund within Axis VII Improvement of the energy security of the Operational Program - Infrastructure and Environment for 2014-2020. The grant agreement was concluded in December 2016 with the Institute of Oil and Gas, acting as the Implementing Authority.
