Enea Operator will use PLN 10 mln EC subsidy investing in Wielkopolska region

Enea Operator signed agreements with contractors for the realisation of two very important grid investments. The projects will be considerably subsidized from the Community funds. Due to that Enea Operator will thoroughly modernise Piła Południe Transformer/Switching Station (GPZ) and will build several metres of 110 kV high voltage line.

– I am very satisfied with the fact of concluding agreements with contractors. These are the first agreements relating to grid investments with the Community financing, concluded by the Poznań division of our company as part of the Infrastructure and Environment Operational Programme 2014-2020. It required a great organisational effort. However, I am convinced that due to that we gained important experience which will bring benefits in the future – said, on agreement conclusion, Agnieszka Gosławska, director of the Department of Development and Investment of Poznań division of Enea Operator.

The investments are located in the northern Wielkopolska, and more precisely in Piła region. GPZ Piła Południe modernisation will significantly improve the reliability of energy supplies, and will also increase the possibilities of connecting new customers. It is extremely important due to the operation and development of the Piła sub-zone of the Pomeranian Special  Economic Zone which affects the growing demand for power in the region. The station’s reconstruction will significantly contribute to the enhancement in the energy security of Piła and surrounding municipalities. The investment implemented by Contrast company is worth almost PLN 9.5 mln, of which over 70 per cent will come from the European Regional Development Fund as part of the Infrastructure and Environment Programme. The investment completion is planned for the end of May 2019.

16 kilometres of 110 kV high-voltage line in Piła Krzewina – Miasteczko Krajeńskie relation will be constructed from scratch. The major goal of this investment is growth in the potential of connecting renewable energy sources. The investment will also help improve the region’s energy security. Due to the fact that the line will go through wetlands of Noteć Valley, during the implementation of the task the contractor, Eltel Networks Energetyka, will perform e.g. special reinforcements under the foundations. The value of the investment is above PLN 6.9 mln, of which almost 50 per cent will derive from the Cohesion Fund, as part of the Infrastructure and Environment Programme.
