A new HV line between Pakość and Żnin connected

Enea Operator connected a new HV line in Pakość – Żnin relation on the area of the Bydgoszcz division’s operations. The line replaced the old used 110 kV line constructed at the beginning of the 60s. of the previous century. Due to the investment the citizens of Inowrocław and Żnin districts will gain more electricity of better quality parameters and more reliable supplies. The ceremonial connection took place on 1 March in the presence of local government and Enea Operator’s representatives.

Enea Operator made the decision to build the new line due to a considerable technical wear and lack of an adequate lightning protection system for the existing infrastructure. The new investment of the length of over 31 km sometimes runs through a harsh marshy area in forests and over navigable rivers and lakes. However, it is in a vast majority located over arable fields, where thanks to its modernisation, the operation of modern, high agricultural machinery will be safer.

The investment includes the increase in the diameter of cables from 120 square mm to 240 square mm and the limit temperature of working cables was raised from 40 to 80°C, which will result in the fact that the load capacity of the new line will increase in summer three times in relation to the previous one.

A range of technical solutions were applied in order to enhance the safety in the vicinity of the line. In the region of a compact development tubular poles were used which prevent climbing on them without additional equipment. On the area of the passage and gathering of birds repellents were used to prevent bird perching on pole arms and warning spirals were fixed on the lightning protection cable which enhance cable visibility, due to which birds will not be easily caught in our lines.

The project and construction works were performed by the consortium of Selpol SA Łóź (consortium leader), Elbud Kraków and ZWSE Rzeszów.

The contract value is over PLN 17.5 mln.
