The main equipment of the new unit in Kozienice Power Plant already in Poland

The generator of the 1,075 MW new unit being constructed came to the port in Gdynia. It is the largest unit generating electricity in Poland and one of the largest in Europe. Now it will be transported by rail to the construction site in Świerże Górne.

The generator came from the factory in Japan. It was being produced for over a year and the travel from Japan to Poland took two months. The huge structure weights 490 tonnes and is 14.5 meter long and the diameter of this giant is over 4 meters. The assembly of the  generator on the construction site will begin in mid July.

The generator is one of the most important elements of the new unit's equipment. It's task will be to generate electricity through changing kinetic energy propelling its turbines. The  producer of the device is Mitsubishi Hitachi Power System.

The realisation of the key investment of Enea Group is in progress in Świerże Górne - the construction of 1,075 MW unit. The project is being implemented according to the  accepted schedule. The progress of the works is already 59%. At the beginning of May the evaporating tower of the new unit reached the final height of 185 meters. It is one of the largest structures of that type in Europe.

The assembly of the boiler's supporting tower is also completed, the assembly of the boiler's vertical screens and the convective parts is in progress. The completion of these works is planned for the turn of 2015 and 2016. The engine room's main structure is also completed.

The new unit will be commissioned in the second half of 2017 and it will be the largest and concurrently the most efficient generating unit fired with bituminous coal in the history of the  Polish energy engineering.
