Enea on ARP Technology Transfer Platform
Cooperation between technology developers and companies interested to implement them - is the goal of the Technology Transfer Platform (TTP) launched by the Industrial Development Agency (IDA). KGHM, Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa, Lotos, PGE and Enea are present on TTP.
The Technology Transfer Platform is based on the model of open innovations. It may be used by inventors, scientific plots, micro, small and medium enterprises, and also large companies. Access to its resources is free of charge.
TTP is an efficient tool for presenting own technologies which allows for commencing a cooperation with companies willing to commercialise them. Technology recipient receives a direct access to innovative solutions in turn. The platform gives a possibility of reporting demand for a given type of technology as well. IDA will provide each user with advisory services and professional assistance when putting offers in the Platform's base. ARP S.A. (IDA) intends to grant organisational and financial assistance to the technology transfer process between technology providers and recipients of innovative solutions.
- Technology Transfer Platform will facilitate the cooperation of all the entities interested in the implementation of innovative projects. It is a unique tool which has been so far missing on the Polish market. It will gather resources of companies which wish to grant access to their innovative solutions to others, and also information on the needs of entities which are interested in such solutions - said Włodzimierz Karpiński, the Minister of Treasury.
- The demand for such an instrument as the Technology Transfer Platform is testified with the fact that on the day of launching already over 500 technological solutions are available comprising 12 sectors. They include e.g. medicine, biotechnology and pharmacy, energy and fuels, mining and smelting industries, environment protection, wood and paper industry, chemistry, electromechanical industry - said Włodzimierz Karpiński.
The Minister reminded that the IDA's strategy announced last year is based on three pillars: restructuring and investments and - for the first time, on innovativeness.
- Today, we can already speak of the first results. IDA established a venture capital fund - ARP Venture, which will spend PLN 70 mln until the end of the year on the development of innovative projects, which have already passed the research stage. Until 2020, IDA will designate PLN 1.3 billion for innovation, covering also capital expenditures - the Minister added.
Paweł Orlof, vice-president of Enea for corporate affairs, paid attention to the fact that the platform launched by IDA is a mechanism of creating new technologies which are used in the whole world. Due to them, such states as Finland, Israel or USA have technological successes. He also emphasised that innovations have great importance for Enea: We know in which areas innovation is needed. We look for such which will result in savings in overheads or fixed costs and such which will generate new products - he added. During the last 12 months, we prepared the structure of operation and cooperation with the surrounding in Enea within "open innovations" which has been already functioning in the whole world, i.e. with research plots, universities and technology brokers. These entities support enterprises in specifying whether a given innovation is fit for commercialisation - he emphasised.
IDA plans to obtain PLN 120 mln from community funds for the development of TTP. Most of these funds will be designated for co-financing of acquiring technology and consulting services for micro, small and medium enterprises.
