Enea on the German market

Enea commences operations on the German electricity wholesale market. Due to the specialist company, Enea Trading will be present both on SPOT and forward markets. Thus, it will obtain an access to exchanges with liquid trading which offer a wide range of products. It will deal with physical and financial products.

Enea Trading's membership in EEX (European Energy Exchange) and EPEX SPOT (European Power Exchange) is another step towards the implementation of Enea's development strategy which foresees expansion into new markets. Enea's active operations on the latter one will enable a physical trading in electricity on the SPOT market in just several hours in advance. On the other hand, the access to financial contracts traded on EEX will allow for an efficient long-term portfolio management. It will also successfully facilitate the implementation of trade strategies.

Commencement of operations on EEX and EPEX SPOT exchanges is a natural direction of operations resulting from the existing infrastructure and progressing integrality of the energy market in Europe - emphasises Grzegorz Kinelski, vice-president of Enea. Due to the appropriate adjustment of trade strategies we will gain new competences and experience for an even better preparation to the upcoming changes on the energy market in Europe – he adds.

EEX and EPEX Spot exchanges are one of the most liquid electricity markets in Europe. European Energy Exchange seated in Leipzig was established as a result of the amalgamation of LPX Leipzig Power Exchange and EEX located in Frankfurt at that time.

Enea will continue the implementation of the expansion strategy to new markets and plans to develop its operations in new European countries.
