Choose wisely. Check who is selling energy to you.

Enea received the Energy Seller Certificate from the Association of Energy Trading (Towarzystwo Obrotu Energią- TOE) The second edition was launched of the Polish-wide educational and informative campaign for Customers - Consumers of electricity. Through the radio, national and local press, and also the Internet, the Association of Energy Trading wishes to acquaint Consumers with their rights and promote fair business principles. The honorary patronage over the campaign was taken by the President of the Energy Regulatory Office (ERO), and Enea supports the campaign.

The campaign is to e.g. promote the knowledge on the electricity market, increasing the awareness of activities of companies applying unfair market practices, building a competitive market for electricity sales based on fair play and indication of companies which adopted the Code of Good Practices, which guarantees Customers transparent and clear rules of concluding agreements. The campaign commenced with an official presentation of TOE Certificates to first electricity sellers which confirmed joining the Code of Good Practices of Electricity Sellers and a positive result of a verifying audit performed by a third certification body.

The campaign is also a reply to numerous complaints of Customers relating to unfair activities of commercial representatives of some sellers. They use lack of knowledge, especially of elderly people, and the fact that such terms as "a man form a power plant" or "an electricity man" are associated by many people with reliable energy sellers. It happens that they mislead customers this way and make them sign an unwanted agreement.

The campaign also encourages Customers to make conscious decisions when choosing a seller. It is guaranteed only by a thorough knowledge who the Customer is talking to, what the full content of the offer and agreement is and what are not only the obligations of Customers but also their rights.

- The Energy Regulatory Office assumes that only appropriately informed recipients may take an effective care for their own interests on the energy market. Increasing the awareness and knowledge of consumers, easier access to information on their rights and educating consumers put pressure on sellers. As a result, sellers need to guarantee relevant standards of servicing consumers who are aware of their rights - emphasised Maciej Bando, the President of ERO.

The Association of Energy Trading encourages Customers to check door-to-door sellers who they let into their homes, to acquaint with the presented offer thoroughly and read agreements they are to sign. In case of any doubts they should ask about everything and discuss contractual terms in detail with a sales representative. The campaign informs also on the right of each person to withdraw within 14 days from the agreement signed outside the seat (business location) of the seller with no consequences.

The educational and informative campaign is supported by electricity sellers from the following groups: ENEA, Energa, Multimedia Polska, Polkomtel, PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna, TAURON Polska Energia and RWE Polska. They all hold TOE Certificates and adopted the Code of Good Practices of Electricity Sellers.

Having in mind the diverse and international nature of Enea SA's shareholding, and also the provisions of the Best Practices of WSE Listed Companies, Enea SA guarantees the availability of its website also in English.
