Another step towards an atomic power plant

Together with KGHM Polska Miedź and TAURON Polska Energia we purchased 10% of shares (a total of 30%) in PGE EJ1. The companies signed the agreement on 15 April.

PGE EJ1 is a special purpose vehicle prepared for the role of a future operator of the first Polish atomic power plant. It is responsible for the preparation and implementation of the investment being the construction and exploitation of the power plant with the capacity of around 3,000 MWe. Enea will pay PLN 16 mln for the purchased shares. The Parties will finance the initial stage of the investment in proportion to the number of shares held.

According to the Polish government's plans, a key decision is to be made in 2017 relating to the construction of an atomic power plant. The investment should commence in 2020, and the first Polish atomic power plant would be commissioned until the end of 2024.
