10 years of ENEA brand

The third as regards the size energy group in Poland celebrates an anniversary of its operations as ENEA. ENEA Capital Group is a modern seller, distributor and generator of electricity. It sells electricity to over 2.4 mln individual and business customers. The distribution network of the Company covers 20% of the territory of Poland, and almost 8% of energy generated in Poland comes from the Group's power plants. ENEA employs over 10 thousand specialists.

The history of the energy sector in Wielkopolska reaches the 19th and 20th centuries. On 1 January 2003 ENEA S.A. Energy Group concern was established with the Head Office in Poznań. It was a consequence of the decision of the Minister of Treasury from the previous year on the establishment of the Western Group and consolidation of five distribution companies: Energetyka Poznańska, Energetyka Szczecińska, Zakład Energetyczny Bydgoszcz, Zakład Energetyczny Gorzów Wlkp. and Zielonogórskie Zakłady Energetyczne. In summer 2007 the Operator of the Distribution System was separated under the name of ENEA Operator Sp. z o.o., and in fall ENEA S.A. held the shares of Elektrownia "Kozienice". ON 17 November 2008 ENEA S.A., as the first of energy companies debuted on the Warsaw Stock Exchange .

It is responsible for 8% of electricity generated in Poland.  It has an efficient Board which intensely works over the implementation of the strategy, building the company's value for shareholders and good customer relations – said Paweł Tamborski, Vice-Minister of the Treasury.

The Company enters the new decade with a new corporate strategy. It emphasises the Group's integration. Pursuant to it, from 1 January ten key companies will be consolidated under ENEA Tax Group. For 2014-2020 it plans investments in the amount of PLN 20 bln.

ENEA Group realises presently the most important investment in the Polish energy sector. In the power plant in Kozienice the most modern in Poland 1,075 MW power unit is being constructed which complies with all, even those most rigorous, ecological standards. The Group invests in energy renewable sources: hydroelectric plants, wind farms and biogas plants. It also offers a wide range of services connected with power engineering. It realises business activity responsibly, therefore it takes into account the needs and expectations of the surrounding. It engages in the live of the community, supports sports, culture, conducts educational and charity activities.

The première concert of Zbigniew Preisner's "Mystic", with participation of the Composer and e.g. Teresa Salgueiro and Józef Skrzek, added splendour to the anniversary of ENEA. The ceremony took place in the Earth Room of the International Poznań Fair.
