The construction of a new 1,075 MW unit in Świerże Górne is in progress. ENEA Wytwarzanie S.A. selected an insurance company for it

The process of realisation of the supercritical bituminous coal fired 1,075 MW power unit is in progress in ENEA Wytwarzanie S.A. The Company also signed an agreement for the insurance of its construction.

Which works have already been realised on the site? Apart from the possession of the site by the general contractor and fencing of the works area, the land was also levelled. Most important demolition works have also been completed. Relocation works are still in progress, and till the end of 2013 the realisation of subsequent works connected with the preparation of the land is planned, which cover e.g. continuation of demolition and relocations, and also execution of temporary roads planned earlier. At the same time, necessary studies and expertises are conducted.

Soon, the construction will commence of an engine room, boiler house and electrical equipment facility. Within the construction, till the end of this year first ground and foundation works will commence. It is also planned to commence ground works for the system of cooling water.

On 8 May ENEA Wytwarzanie S.A. concluded an agreement for the insurance of the investment process of the new unit. The insuring company covered the consortium of the following companies:  Powszechny Zakład Ubezpieczeń S.A., Sopockie Towarzystwo Ubezpieczeń Ergo Hestia S.A., Towarzystwo Ubezpieczeń i Reasekuracji Allianz Polska S.A., Towarzystwo Ubezpieczeń i Reasekuracji Warta S.A. and Generali Towarzystwo Ubezpieczeń S.A. Within the concluded agreement the insurance covered all the risks connected with the construction and assembly, risk of loss of profit as a result of any delays in the investment completion, or third party liability and environmental liability. Property in national and international carriage was also insured, as well as a potential loss of profit as a result of damages occurring during transport.  The insurance agreement is to be in force from 8 May 2013 to the completion of the project realisation.
