ENEA for the disabled

ENEA S.A. adjusted its Internet portal www.enea.pl for people with disabilities. It is the first company to receive a Certificate of the Integration Foundation "Portal Przyjazny Osobom z Niepełnosprawnością".

The certificate was awarded based on the examination of the portal as to the content accessibility for a ten odd groups of users, including people with various types of disabilities. During the works various technical difficulties were fought, including the so called "keyboard trap" which disables the access to the service without using a mouse and the construction of contact forms guaranteeing the security of transmitted data. Modifications introduced include the international web content accessibility guidelines - WCAG 2.0.*

Awarding of the certificate does not mean any termination of the works over the improvement of the website. The Company declares its readiness for further modifications and is open to the proposals from users. - We are happy with the distinction, but we do not intend to rest on our laurels. The adaptation of the service to the needs of disabled users means a process for us. We will, if possible, introduce new modifications - emphasises Robert Krawczyk, Director of the Corporate Communication Department of ENEA S.A.

The service adaptation procedure for www.enea.pl lasted for several months - notices Dominik Paszkiewicz, accessibility specialist of the Integracja Foundation. During that time, employees of ENEA S.A. and developers of the service received not only a report from the accessibility audit from us, but also a decent dose of knowledge concerning good practices within the accessibility. In our opinion, www.enea.pl reached a satisfactory accessibility level and should not constitute any barrier for disabled users.

* WCAG 2.0 (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0) is a collection of rules developed by W3C which should be observed by website developers so that to prepare a maximally accessible website. The importance of the aforementioned guidelines is confirmed with an entry in the Digital Agenda for Europe, which is a document of the European Union indicating that W3C recommendations are valid.

Having in mind the diverse and international nature of Enea SA's shareholding, and also the provisions of the Best Practices of WSE Listed Companies, Enea SA guarantees the availability of its website also in English. In case of any interpretation doubts and discrepancies between the Polish and English versions, the Polish version shall prevail.
