The ENEA Capital Group generated almost PLN 10 bln revenues
The year of 2011 was a record for the energy company from Poznan. The ENEA Group reported a substantial improvement at almost all the levels and its revenues reached the amount of PLN 9.69 bln, i.e. by 23.6 per cent more than in 2010.
The ENEA Capital Group may declare the completed year very successful. Apart from the record level of revenues, the company noted improvement of the other economic indicators. The net result rose even more, i.e. 25.2 per cent, which reached the level of PLN 800 mln. Comparing to the precedent year, the Group's operating result increased - it was higher by 19.5 per cent and amounted to PLN 851 mln. The published results confirm the strong position of the Group in the Polish energy sector.
In the whole 2011 EBITDA indicators rose by 14.4 per cent and amounted to PLN 1.56 bln. The greatest increase was noted in the segment of Generation since it grew by 40.2 per cent from the level of PLN 566 mln generated in 2010. An increase in sales of electricity by PLN 334.6 mln and an increase in the average sale price by 3.0 per cent had the main impact on the positive results of this segment. Revenues from certificates of origin were also higher by PLN 68.6 mln. An increase was also noted in the segment of generation. EBITDA result from this part of operations was higher by 10.3 per cent and amounted to PLN 689 mln. The improvement was mainly impacted by higher sales of distribution services to end users by PLN 72.2 mln and increased revenues by title of settlements on the Balancing Market and connections to the grid and the result on the other operating activities. The ENEA Group reported a drop at the level of EBITDA (26.3 per cent) in the segment of trading. The result amounted to PLN 155 mln. The result was mainly influenced by a lower first contribution margin and higher costs of energy unbalancing.
In 2011 the Company grew also in the areas being of key importance to it. ENEA completed the process of acquisition of Bialystok Heat and Power Plant and presently holds almost 100.00 per cent of its shares. Within the realisation of the strategy concerning green energy the company purchased a wind farm in Darzyno with the capacity of 6 MW and signed a preliminary contract of purchase of a constructed wind farm in Bardy with the capacity of 50 MW (with possibility of being extended to 60 MW). The Company has also commenced construction of a biogas plant with the capacity of 1.6 MW and during the whole 2012 it wants to increase the capacities in this segment by 5.6 MW. Another, twenty first water turbine plant was opened on the Welna River with the capacity of 330 kW.
