A new installation of denitriding of combustion gas for for "Kozienice" Power Plant
On 28 June 2011 Elektrownia "Kozienice" S.A. and RAFAKO S.A. executed a contract for turnkey realisation of complete, modern installations of combustion gas denitriding with a catalyst method of Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) for OP-650 boilers on five 200 MW blocks No. (4-8) which are bituminous coal and biomass-fired (with the mass percentage of biomass not exceeding 10%), which will allow for the boilers exploitation in accordance with the current environment protection requirements. The installation will constitute the largest installation of that type in Poland.
The (SCR) method possesses the status of BAT technology granted by the European Union which proves to be the best available technology among all the technologies of reduction of nitric oxides. The building development of (SCR) installation will ensure 80% reduction of nitric oxides in combustion gas from the present level of 500mg/m3u NOx to the level of ≤ 100 mg/m3u NOx in the full scope of capacity. The target volume of refined hot combustion gas will amount to 3.8 mln mn3/h, yet the volume of eliminated nitric oxides is 1500 kg/h. The weight of the developed catalysts will amount to ca.1400 tonnes with a supporting structure and canals for combustion gas of ca. 5000 tonnes.
Because of its vast experience within boiler technologies RAFAKO shall ensure a comprehensive realisation of the investment taking account of the impact of catalysts on the flow of combustion gas in the boiler relevantly modifying heating surfaces thanks to which boiler efficiency will be maintained and the installation of denitriding will not in any way disturb its functioning. The investment will be realised in five stages, during 2011-2016, in the periods resulting from the schedule of repair standstills of blocks in Elektrownia "Kozienice" S.A.
