Enea is increasing its RES capacity. It has purchased 6 wind farms with a capacity of 83.5 MW

Enea Nowa Energia, an Enea Group company, has acquired from European Energy 6 wind farms with a total capacity of 83.5 MW, located in the Zachodniopomorskie Voivodship. Along with the wind farms, as part of the deal, Enea will also acquire a 25 MW photovoltaic farm project at the "ready to build" stage. The maximum value of the transaction will be PLN 914 million.

Enea is consistently implementing the Enea Group's Development Strategy until 2035 in the renewable energy sector. The purchase of the 6 wind farms with a total capacity of 83.5 MW from European Energy significantly increases the RES potential in Enea's portfolio. Thanks to this investment installed capacity in renewable energy sources will increase in the Enea Group by 17% (RES installed capacity before the purchase of the farms was 492 MW, according to 2024 figures). The wind farms purchased are modern installations, using turbines from leading manufacturers: Siemens Gamesa, General Electric and Nordex. The maximum value of the transaction will be PLN 914 million.

The investment includes the Pomerania project (44.7 MW) and the Liskowo farm (38.8 MW), both located in the Zachodniopomorskie Voivodship:

  • Grzmiąca wind farm: 6.0 MW
  • Białogard I wind farm: 7.9 MW
  • Drawsko II wind farm: 5.25 MW
  • Kołobrzeg wind farm: 19.25 MW
  • Siemyśl wind farm: 6.3 MW
  • Liskowo wind farm: 38.8 MW

The Enea Group is an active participant in the transition of the Polish power sector, consistently pursuing projects aimed at achieving zero emissions. According to Enea Group's strategy, the installed capacity in renewable energy sources is expected to reach 2.1 GW in 2030, and as much as 4.9 GW in 2035. Onshore and offshore wind farms and photovoltaic installations will be the dominant contributors to RES energy production. The work of RES installations will be supported by the energy storage facilities being developed, which will also play an important role in stabilizing the operation of our distribution grids. The acquired farms can serve as a base for future modernization, repowering or integration with other RES technologies, such as energy storage or PV installations.

“Enea is not slowing down. We continue to develop in the renewable energy sector. The purchase of completed and operational wind farms allows us to immediately increase our share of the renewable energy market, without the need to go through a multi-year development process. With this transaction, we are strengthening our position in the market. The implementation of projects such as today's purchase of the wind farms will allow the Enea Group to successfully transform itself into a green, reliable and modern energy concern over the next ten years,” said Grzegorz Kinelski, CEO of Enea.

European Energy, from which Enea has purchased the wind farms, operates in more than 25 countries, developing wind, solar and power-to-X projects. It specializes in the development, construction and operation of green energy projects. It has a significant impact on the global energy transition, promoting sustainable development and the consistent shift of economies and societies away from fossil fuels. The company has been present on the Polish market since 2006. It has 200 MW of RES installed capacity and plans to develop projects with a total capacity of more than 5 GW.

“We are proud to sell the wind farms to Enea, which shares our long-term vision for renewable energy sources. This transaction also underscores the strength of our project portfolio in Poland, where we remain committed to growing our wind, solar and power-to-X business," said Jens-Peter Zink, Deputy CEO of European Energy.

In addition, the deal includes the purchase of a photovoltaic farm project at the "ready to build" stage with a capacity of 25 MW being developed at one of the wind farms.

Enea Nowa Energia, the Enea Group company responsible for RES investments, is currently negotiating further acquisitions, both wind farms and photovoltaic farms. This confirms the Group’s long-term development strategy and commitment to Poland's energy transition.
