Another element of Poznań – Gorzów "energetic highway" was completed

Enea Operator completed a comprehensive reconstruction of 110 kV high-voltage line in Skwierzyna – Międzyrzecz relation. This investment is crucial not only for Skwierzyna and Międzyrzecz area, but also for Gorzów Wielkopolski. It is because it is connected to the high-voltage line between Gorzów Wielkopolski and Poznań being modernised by the Company.

Works over the modernisation of Skwierzyna – Międzyrzecz 110 kV line consisted in its comprehensive reconstruction from single to double-track line. It means that presently two independent lines come through the poles. A thorough modernisation included an over 20-kilometre long section running along the previous route.

– During the reconstruction new foundations were made and all the poles with their earthing were exchanged. New cables, with a greater section, were also applied. The line was designed to operate in the temperature up to 80°C – said Dariusz Strzelecki, director of the Planning and Development Department in Enea Operator.– The line modernisation will considerably increase the electricity supply reliability. The reconstruction is another investment being in line with the wider concept of changing the configuration of 110 high-voltage line on the area of Enea Operator’s operations, with an objective of a considerable increase in the energy security of north-western part of Poland – added Dariusz Strzelecki.

The contractor of almost PLN 11 million worth of an investment is Enea Logistyka – Bilfinger FRB – Andar consortium. The works were finally accepted at the end of 2016. Presently, the line is already operating.

The construction of Skwierzyna – Międzyrzecz high-voltage line is another stage of implementing the concept of Enea Operator – development of a stable connection between Gorzów Wielkopolski and Poznań. After the completion of all the investments comprised by the concept, the sequence of lines including the construction of a new 400/110 kV Baczyna station by Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne will become one of the foundations of reliability of electricity supplies in western Poland.
