The most awaited triathlon début of the year already this weekend!

1500 contestants will start in the most awaited triathlon debut of this year - Bydgoszcz Triathlon. Due to the great interest in the event, the organisers repeatedly increased the limits on start lists. The participants include e.g. representatives from Great Britain, Germany, Ukraine or RSA. Apart from sport emotions, the fans will have many more attractions.

On 12 July in Bydgoszcz the contestants will compete on two distances - 56.5 km (the so called "quarter") and sprint. On the first one they will have to go through a 950 m swimming route in the Brda, 45 km of the cycling stage and 10.5 km run. In sprint the distances are shorter by a half, respectively. Additionally, there will be the Polish Competition of Doctors and Lawyers.

- I have been taking part in triathlon events for many years in Poland and abroad, where I can see what the organisation of the best sport events in the world looks like. I have always wanted for triathlon events to be conducted also in Bydgoszcz and, as applications showed, other contestants also waited for that - says Jakub Kubiński, a triathlonist and organiser of Bydgoszcz Triathlon. - We managed to join Enea Tri Tour cycle at once which makes our event one of the most important in the whole season. Thanks to that, we will host the best contestants of Poland in Bydgoszcz - adds Kubiński.

Sport quality in Bydgoszcz

The leading contestants confirmed their start, e.g. Martyna Chlebosz (the best contestant of Enea Tri Tour 2014 cycle), Bogumił Głuszkowski (Enea Tri Tour Team, vice-champion of Europe in his age category), or Łukasz Kalaszczyński (Polish champion in duathlon, vice-champion of Poland on the medium distance). Some known ambassadors of this sport will also appear at the Bydgoszcz event. Rafał Burski, the Mayor of Bydgoszcz, will start in the special category on Bydgoszcz Agglomeration Bike. Joanna Jabłczyńska, a known actor and lawyer, will compete in the Polish Lawyers Championship.

- I am glad that another big event appeared in Enea Tri Tour cycle. Bydgoszcz Triathlon is the best example of the fact that triathlon is developing in Poland. A great number of contestants will be rookies who will taste the high quality sport rivalry for the first time - says Wojciech Kruczyński, the president of Endu Sport and co-organiser of Enea Tri Tour cycle.

Attractions not only for sportsmen

Apart from triathlon emotions, there is a great number of attractions waiting for contestants and their families. In the special fan's zone ENERGY+ Active life every person will be able to try their skills in "Triathlon for everyone", i.e. a swim simulation using an Xbox console, the cycle stage on an exercise bike and a run on a running track.

– In ENERGY+ Active life we are connecting generations and prove that sport is a great solution for whole families. If any family member starts is a competition, the others may spend their time in our zone. We invite fans and citizens of Bydgoszcz for playing together and spending time actively - says Grzegorz Kinelski, vice-president of Enea for commercial affairs.

Special cheering zones were also prepared in the city, e.g. in the area of a spectacular run through Jerzy Sulima-Kamiński's Bridge.
