Japanese Vice Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, Midori Matsushima, with a visit to Kozienice power plant

On Monday, 13 January a working visit took place of the Japanese Vice Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, Midori Matsushima, in ENEA Wytwarzanie in Kozienice.

The Japanese delegation consisted of representatives of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry in Japan and Hitachi managers. The guests were welcomed by Krzysztof Sadowski, President of ENEA Wytwarzanie and Piotr Szmaj, Unit Construction Director.

- It has been a year since the construction of the new unit commenced. Presently, it is the most important investment of the Polish power sector. The new 1,075 MW unit will be of a high importance to the ENEA Group and also for the energy security of the whole country - said President Krzysztof Sadowski, welcoming Minister Matushima.

- We are happy for the participation of Hitachi in the largest investment of the Polish power sector. I am convinced that the innovative technology, quality of executed works and experience of Hitachi on the Japanese market will allow to commission a power unit which complies with rigorous standards and technical parameters in your country - said Midori Matsushima, Japanese Vice Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry.

The Japanese delegation looked at the progress of works at the construction site of the unit. During the recent days the first piping was concreted for cooling water with a diameter of 3.8 m, connecting the engine room and the evaporating tower. Before Christmas the last  tie beam of the cooling house jacket was also mounted. Then the guests went to see the desulphurisation installation made by Hitachi, which reduce sulphur dioxide emissions to the atmosphere. - The operation of the installation ensures a very high - over 93% efficiency of desulphurisation - explained President Sadowski going back with the guests,

The visiting of the power plant in Kozienice ended with a coffee drunk together. The Japanese guests received a chunk as a gift with the new unit engraved in 3d technology. They also advised of their plans to pay another visit in 2017 when the new unit commences its operation.
