ENEA S.A. among 30 largest companies on WSE
Today the Warsaw Stock Exchange commenced the publication of WIG30 index, concentrating the largest and most liquid companies on WSE. The new index better reflects the size and sectoral differentiation of companies listed on the Warsaw trading floor.
WIG30 includes no more than seven companies from one industry, and the share of one company in the capitalisation of the whole index is limited to 10%. It is a price index, which means that calculating its value only prices of concluded transactions are taken into account.
- WIG30 better reflects the growth of the Polish economy and a dynamic development of the Polish capital market over the recent years - estimates Adam Maciejewski, President of the Board of WSE. - Widening of the elite of listed companies will be a considerable factor of their further development and will affect the increase in the interest in their securities.
ENEA S.A. is a reliable seller of electricity which plays one of the key roles in the growth of the national economy. ENEA Capital Group employs nearly 10 thousand specialists. The Group's operations are based on generation, distribution and trade in electricity and rendering services within power engineering.
- Entry into the key index is an honour and prestige for us - says Krzysztof Zamasz, President of the Board of ENEA S.A. - It means also great challenges for the ENEA Group. The competition is strong, we must prove that investing in our assets is justified - he adds.
As a target, the new index is to replace WIG20 published so far. The planned schedule anticipates that the both indices will be published concurrently till the end of 2014.
