Opening of tenders for the construction of a new unit in Elektrownia

On 25 April 2012, 11.30 a.m., in the Kozienice Power Plant tenders were opened which were filed in the procedure for granting of the utilities contact through negotiations with an offer for the "Construction of a supercritical power unit fired with bituminous coal with the net electric power of the minimum of 900 MWe and maximum of 1,000 MWe in Elektrownia "Kozienice" S.A."

Within the tender procedure term the offers were filed, in the order of appearance, by the following contractors: Hitachi Power Europe GmbH with Polimex – Mostostal S.A. and China National Electric Engineering Co. Ltd. with China Overseas Engineering Group Co. Ltd.

Elektrownia"Kozienice" S.A. will commence assessing the tenders, however it will select the most advantageous proposal which fulfils all the requirements for the participation in the procedure. Apart from the price the proposal assessing criteria include among others the time of the order realisation, guarantee and technical parameters.

Conclusion of the contract for the construction of a new energetic unit is planned on the turn of Q2 and Q3 this year.   

The new Kozienice unit of the capacity of around 1,000 MWe is one of the largest investments of the Polish energy sector. The unit, similarly to the other generating units working in the Power Plant, will be fired with bituminous coal.  

The termination of the construction is planned for Q4 2016.
