25 new fans work for the ENEA Group

ENEA S.A. signed a final agreement for the purchase of the Bardy wind farm. The object has substantially increased the ENEA Group’s capacity of generation from renewable sources since the farm will generate around 150,000 MWh of green electricity annually. This is sufficiently enough to ensure energy to 50,000 of medium-sized households.

- Through the purchase of another wind farm we wish to maintain our capacity within projects from renewable sources thanks to which we will be able to obtain a greater number of green certificates. At the same time, compliant with our strategy till 2020 we will reach 250-350 MW of power coming from wind - emphasises Krzysztof Zborowski, President of the Board of Elektrownia "Kozienice" S.A. and Vice-President of the Board of ENEA S.A.

The farm located in Bardy (Dygowo municipality, Kolobrzeg Poviat, the Zachodniopomorskie Province) on a highly windy area has 50 MW at its disposal. It consists of 25 Vestas turbines of the capacity of 2 MW each. The farm will generate around 150,000 MWh of green electricity annually. This is sufficiently enough to ensure energy to 50,000 of medium-sized households.

From the beginning of the year the farm has generated almost 30,000 MWh of electricity. To ensure maximum efficiency and safety the fans were located on the area of 450 ha. The Bardy wind farm may be extended to the total capacity of 60 MW. ENEA plans to obtain all the building permits for construction of other turbines till the end of this year.  

The generation capacities from RES in the ENEA Group, apart from the newly purchased farm, presently cover: the wind farm in Darzyno (6 MW), 21 water turbine plants (60.26 MW), the biogas plant in Liszkowo (2.1 MW) and the biogas plant under construction in Gorzeslaw (1.6 MW).
